Brookline by Design advocates for a comprehensive and inclusive community-based planning process modeled after the very successful Somerville by Design initiative that other municipalities are following. Please support our endorsed candidates at the polls on May 2.
Our proposed planning process (Warrant Article 26) was passed by near unanimous vote at Town Meeting on December 1, 2021. The Select Board appointed a Planning Process Study Committee to craft a proposal for Brookline's planning process. BBD's own Linda Olson Pehlke chairs this committee. A request for proposal will be issued this summer with a tentative launch in the Fall of this year. Your support for Brookline by Design candidates is essential to ensuring that Town Meeting continues to vote in accordance with the goals of holistic community-driven planning.
We brought together a broad-based candidate endorsement committee to help us select candidates who value and understand the need for authentically engaging the public and all stakeholders in an informed and meaningful process to determine the communities values and vison. Brookline by Design actively seeks thoughtful representation from all perspectives to fulfill our mission of a genuinely broad-based community planning process.

Brookline by Design is actively working to support endorsed candidates. Because we chose an organizational and legal structure that provides transparency to the public about our donors and also has campaign finance limits, State law prevents large donors from funding our organization. We are proud to be funded entirely by a large number of individual community members making small dollar donations. Please consider helping to defray the cost of mailings and printings by making a donation.
Even if you have never voted in a Town election before, please let your voice be heard at the polls on May 2.
