As the Commonwealth struggles to respond to these challenging times with new policy initiatives addressing such issues as climate, the MBTA, housing affordability, and equity, we need a Representative who is effective, collaborative, and focused on serving the people of Brookline.
Tommy has delivered for Brookline. He has secured funding for Brookline non-profits and for key Brookline-specific infrastructure, while also working effectively with colleagues—including those from communities that are very different from Brookline—to advance Brookline’s policy goals.
We need a representative who is aligned with our commitment to community-driven land-use decision-making, favoring processes that empower the community in determining our collective future. The culture on Beacon Hill can sometimes favor top-down, one-size-fits-all State mandates directed at local communities. Tommy understands the need to evaluate such proposals from the grassroots perspective, and he reaches out to colleagues of differing points of view to create alliances to achieve critical results.
